Venture Forward
Venture forward is a collaboration between GoDaddy, the largest domain provider in the US, and researchers at Arizona State University, the University of Iowa, and Smith College. As part of our multi-year collaboration, we leverage data on the density of website domains in counties and metros (see map below) to evaluate the economic effects of domains on income growth, unemployment, and overall prosperity in communities. This research can be found here and is being used to consult local communities to help foster entrepreneurship. We are also leveraging this unprecedented data to better measure how communities participate in the digital economy. This collaboration is ongoing, and our research has been presented to numerous organizations, including the Brookings Institute and the Kauffman Foundation.
